Fortune Marketing Unlimited, Inc. (FMU) was founded in 1987 to create, market and manage corporate-sponsored promotional events. FMU's business philosophy is based on creating long-term business relationships and delivering long-term results. FMU partners with senior executives facing complex marketing decisions and helps companies define their outstanding issues, capture vital information and acquire the knowledge they need to make cost-effective decisions.

FMU created the Applied Underwriters Invitational, a nationwide series of amateur scramble-style golf events, to benefit selected charities. It has become the largest and most successful event of its kind in the world. FMU has helped manage more than 4,400 golf tournaments, and the Applied Invitational has raised well over $286 million for its charitable beneficiaries.

Loren J. Shapiro, President of FMU, is a magna cum laude graduate of Tufts University, where he played golf, basketball and soccer and was named to the College All-American soccer team in 1982. After graduation, he worked at International Management Group (IMG), the world's largest sports marketing company, where he created and managed corporate promotions for numerous Fortune 500 companies. Loren opened his own marketing/consulting company in 1987. Since its inception, Applied Underwriters Invitational has grown to become the largest corporate sponsored amateur charity event in the world.

Maddie grew up around the game of golf and developed a strong love for the game as a little girl. That passion led her to play collegiate golf at Belmont University, where she competed at a high level and studied Exercise Science and Nutrition.

After graduating, Maddie spent four years as an Assistant Golf Professional in Texas, gaining valuable experience in all aspects of golf operations. From organizing tournaments and managing day-to-day club activities to providing lessons and growing the game. She joined FMU this year and is excited to be a part of the team.
